Located in the southern most part of Spain, Andalucía is the home of Flamenco, Gazpacho, Sangria, and Bullfighting. This region is made up of (8) provinces: Almeria, Cadiz, Cordova, Granada, Huelva, Jaen, Malaga and the capitol Sevilla. This region has more population than any other region in Spain, and is the second largest in terms of land area. It offers some of the best beach resorts in Spain, as well as the famous "Sierra Nevada" mountains, with the highest peaks in Spain (approx. 11,000 Feet), which offer plenty of snow for skiing between November and April. There are many castles with moorish inspired design, cathedrals, small white-washed villages, and over 60 world-class golf courses. The province of Almeria, offers Europes only desert, where many American "Westerns" have been filmed. The province of Jaen is known as the land of olive groves, and produces some of the highest quality olive oil in the world. The great fortified wine "Sherry" has been made in the city of Jerez de la Frontera since A.D. 711.
