This medieval region is land-locked and is located in northeastern Spain. The region is made up of (3) provinces: Huesca, Teruel and the capitol Zaragoza. This region borders with France, and the Pyrenees are located in-between them. This region has many mountains, plains, and valleys, perfect for the free-range sheep and cows that are roaming the land. Some of the best "Jamon Serrano" in the country is being made near the city of Teruel. This region also has plenty of stone houses with rock walls that divide the land, and small villages offering simply food, such as roasted lamb chops with olive oil and rosemary. The great up-and-coming wine region of "Borja" is located near Zaragoza. The people of Aragon are also known for having the friendliest and most welcoming hospitality in Spain, as well as some of the most beautiful medieval villages, such as Albarracin. You will find many artisan small batch cheeses and great local wines throughout the region.
